Hyperlite Wakeboards dates to the early days of wakeboarding. In the mid-1990s, Hyperlite founder Herb O'Brien developed the first compression-molded wakeboard, revolutionizing the sport by making wakeboards lighter, stronger, and more durable.

Since then, Hyperlite has continued to push the boundaries of wakeboarding technology, introducing innovations such as the first asymmetrical wakeboard, the first carbon-fiber wakeboard, and the first wakeboard with adjustable fins.
